Nourished Festival in Worcester 2019

It’s been a bit crazy in our house with all the kitchen renovations but my Cecelia and I took a quick field trip to the Nourished Festival in Worcester, MA.

The Festival is a food expo held all over the United States showcasing gluten free foods. At each expo multiple vendors share their wares that are not just gluten free but many times nut free, keto/paleo friendly, and even vegetarian/plant based. It is a great place to explore and taste test many foods without spending the money on a whole package and realizing it doesn’t fit your lifestyle/ allergies or just isn’t what you had in mind.

In Worcester, it was held at the DCU Center which is a huge arena that holds many event all year round from food festivals, concerts, to even Monster Jam monster truck shows! In central Massachusetts it is the place to go.

The great thing is it’s only about a twenty minute drive (without traffic) to get to there. My Cecelia was very excited to try some new foods and see if there was anything new from some family favorites.

We scanned our tickets at the entrance that we won from a local instagram gluten free influencer- Gluten Free Fooducator. The tickets are a great price to begin with but free is even better! With any new experience with my Cecelia we keep our expectations low- especially with food. We walked in and immediately were able to snag two reusable bags with coupons and some free samples.

We checked out the signage and saw everything was color coded for what type of food you were looking for. My Cecelia was very excited to see nut free on the list and we quickly went to that designated section of the expo.

There we found some tried and true companies like Enjoy Life but also found a new fabulous find called Undercover Quinoa! Oh my god. These little chocolate snacks are delicious and can be found on Amazon and a few local stores near us.

There was quite a crowd there and it was a bit overwhelming for my Cecelia so we stayed for a very short time and ventured only to the clearly marked nut free vendors. We saw maybe about a quarter of the whole expo but it was still worthwhile! We walked away with three full size bags of the Undercover Quinoa for a very discounted price and quite a few additional sample size snacks. Samples from Schar breads for myself and some samples snacks from Enjoy Life. We also ordered a trial box of Enjoy Life with twenty different snacks to try and lots of coupons for their other items.

I am already planning on going next year when the Nourished Festival comes back to Worcester but get tickets for both days so I can explore a little with my Cecelia and also venture to all the other booths once she has had her fill of the crowds! Highly recommend getting tickets to this event.
