Green cupcake flops

It’s St. Patricks Day! The day where everyone pretends they’re Irish (if they aren’t) and eats and drinks anything you can think of that is green or that can be turned a shade of green.

What better way to celebrate than to make green and white vegan top eight allergen free cupcakes? I tried a new recipe from It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken. I thought I would give it a bit more festive feeling by making them vanilla and green tie-dyed.

It was a great idea in my head and I’ve seen a million tie-dyed cake videos on how to do it and well mine fell a little flat... Not only did I use a new food dye by Color Garden but I also didn’t mix the colors quite enough to mix. They look like spinach and cheese muffins rather than green and white tie-dyed cupcakes. Oh well! Live and learn. They still tasted pretty good.

With it being the day where everything is green I decided to up the green-ness and make some mint chocolate chip buttercream frosting to go on top! Now that was super tasty and worked perfectly- except my piping skills still need some work.
