Chocolate Dream Donuts

It has come to my attention that I had a great variety of tasty baked donuts but I was missing one of the best ones around- chocolate! With my Cecelia being the chocoholic, that she is, this was a huge misstep for me.

We quickly remedied this, and together, came up with a great dense and delicious double chocolate donut. It is a super quick recipe which is great because who can really wait all that long for a nice warm chocolate donut?

First you put all the dry ingredients into your mixer and give it a quick blend.

Then put all the wet ingredients into another bowl.

Next pour the wet into the mixer and blend until smooth.

Let sit for at least a half hour to ensure the ingredients are incorporated.

Fill a pasty bag with the batter.

Then pipe the batter about two thirds full into a well greased donut pan or mini muffin tin.

Bake for fourteen minutes then allow to cool in the pan for no more than five minutes.

Pop the now baked donuts or donut holes onto a cooling rack and let cool completely.

While the donuts are cooling you can make your chocolate glaze.

Melt the chocolate chips and margarine together in the microwave for about a minute.

Mix together with a spoon or fork.

Add the non-dairy milk and powdered sugar and mix slowly.

Add the agave nectar or any sweetener you have available. This will add sweetness and shine to your glaze.

Mix well and dip the donuts about a third of the way into the glaze. Any further and the donut will break or get stuck in the glaze.

Set the now glazed donuts on the cooling rack and let set for another five to ten minutes and enjoy!
